Conducting Your First Assessment

Embarking on your first assessment with Guardian’s Fortress is a pivotal step towards enhancing your security measures. Our comprehensive approach ensures that no detail is overlooked, providing you with a thorough understanding of your security vulnerabilities and the necessary steps to address them effectively. Trust Guardian’s Fortress to guide you through this process, ensuring that your organization is well-prepared and protected.

Phase 0 (Get Set Up)

After you or your organization has an agreement with Guardians Fortress, our customer service team will provide you with a unique username and password. This will be connected to a Microsoft 365 account that provides your organization with a secure means to collect, collaborate and conduct your future security inspections.

  • Download from Google Play Store, Android’s App Store, or Microsoft Store the below apps.
    • Microsoft Authenticator App
    • Microsoft Power App
    • Microsoft Teams

Phase 1 (Preparation)

Familiarize yourself with the MIA app.

Develop a draft plan prior to engagements to have a starting point as a point of departure.

  • Determine what portions of the questions are not relevant to this assessment.
  • Guesstimate the length of times, dates, times of day that would best support the assessment.
  • Determine the groups of people you need access to so you can request it in future engagements.

Prepare to be asked for your contact information (if you are assessing an organization other than your own)

  • Business cards (optional but) or digital version
    • Include your Guardian’s Fortress email
      • Helps centralize the emails related to the assessment.
      • Relates individual questions to email responses.

Coordinate initial meetings (telephone, Teams meeting, and/or face-to-face).  These could be separate engagements separated over time as you work your way down the organizational structure.

  • Organization leaders that approved doing the assessment (get their goals, interests, timeline expectations)
  • Specific facility leads (confirming that they are tracking and setting a rough plan)

Engage the leadership and primary individuals to

  • Gain their confidence in your ability to conduct the inspection.
  • Gain support to conduct the inspection and have access to the facilities and its personnel.
  • Determine if they will or want to be involved in the assessment activities.

Update your plan based on your earlier engagements.

Phase 2 (Execution)

Phase 3 (Inspection Close Out Activities)

Provide an out briefing to the organization leadership on your findings and recommendations.

Phase 4 (Follow Thru)

Were there any asks for support in rectifying the gaps identified? Training, equipment purchases or repairs, assistance with coordination, etc…?

Determine the optimal time to reengage the organization for a follow-up.
